Kate discovers that her grandmother is a time traveler, and that Kate herself shares the gene that makes it possible. She gets a medallion to help her set her coordinates and must travel back in time to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair to help save her family from never existing. I'm a huge fan of time travel books, and this one was well written. I love the premise of historians as time travelers, and Kate is a dynamic character who becomes stronger and more dedicated to her new adventure as the story progresses. She is afraid of losing her family and her new boyfriend, so her determination keeps the story moving. She faces other time travelers, a serial killer, and alternate reality versions of her family as she works to save the world she knows.
